In 2005, for the first time ever, the MINI factory in Oxford has produced more than 200,000 cars in one year. The milestone model – MINI 200,000 – has arrived in Australia, and guess who’s got it: Canterbury MINI Garage.
The MINI Team at Canterbury MINI Garage are most excited about having built this particular car. Imagine – out of all the MINI dealers around the globe, we pressed the button at the right time. What a coincidence…
By building more than 200,000 cars in one year (in 2005 a grand total of 200,400 MINI models rolled off the line), MINI success confirms the vision of the BMW Group in creating the modern MINI brand.
Initial expectations of producing 100,000 cars a year were quickly overtaken, as sales and orders for the MINI hardtop and in 2005, MINI Cabrio, blasted through company projections.
